CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS AND JORD WATCH GIVEAWAY!!!

The countdown to Christmas is on. In fact I was walking through Hobby Lobby the other day and one of my favorite Christmas songs "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" was playing and I instantly had that warm feeling Christmas so magically brings. But in true Florida form I walked outside and was blasted with the heat and I remembered we still have time. Christmas is my favorite holiday for so many reasons. One of the reasons is because we have several Family traditions that have created lasting memories that I will cherish forever. One in particular is the way we exchange gifts as a family on Christmas Eve. After we do our church Candlelight services we go to my mom-in-loves house and open gifts from Gran Jan and Pop. Then we head home and just the 5 of us excitedly gather around the Christmas tree.

Throughout the season we all individually shop for each family member and we honestly let the kids pick out exactly what they think their siblings will want. The best part of this gift exchange is the way in which we do it. We draw names to see who goes first. But its not who is first in opening their gifts, it's who is first watching everyone open the gifts they lovingly picked out for everyone else. The pure joy on their faces when they watch each of us open what they gifted is a beautiful reminder each time that it truly is better to give than receive. After we let the kids exchange all of their presents its mommy and daddy's turn. Then my husband and I exchange with each other. And let me tell you my husband spoils me. He is such an amazing gift giver and knows my style so well. I sometimes struggle with knowing what to buy him but I do know whatever it is he will feel loved and appreciated even if its something small. My favorite though is the fact he takes time to wrap each gift and even goes to Target to buy pretty gift bags...isn't that the sweetest?!
